Terms of use
A free tool offered as-is by one person. These terms are short because there is very little to govern: there is no account, no payment and no data held on you.

The service
alter.video is a free video editor that runs in your web browser. Video processing happens on your own device; the site does not receive, store or process your files. Using the site means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.
Your content stays yours
No licence, ownership or other right over any video you edit is claimed, granted or transferred here — which follows from the fact that your file never reaches this site in the first place. Whatever you produce with the editor is yours to do with as you like.
Acceptable use
You are responsible for having the right to edit the video you load, and for what you do with the output. Do not use the site to process material you are not permitted to process, or in a way that breaks the law where you are. Do not attempt to disrupt the site or the servers it is delivered from.
No warranty
The site is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Video encoding is demanding work to run in a browser tab: an edit can fail, a browser tab can run out of memory on a large file, and an output can differ from what you expected. Keep the original file until you have checked the result. To the fullest extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for lost work, lost time or any damage arising from use of the site.
Availability
There is no uptime commitment. The site is a personal project and may be changed, moved offline or discontinued at any time, without notice. Because nothing is stored server-side, there is nothing of yours to lose if that happens.
Third-party software
The editor is built on ffmpeg.wasm, a WebAssembly build of FFmpeg, which is distributed under its own licence terms. Those terms govern that software, not these.
Changes and contact
These terms may be updated; the date at the top reflects the last change. The site is operated by Kyllian — github.com/InstantlyMoist. See also the privacy policy.
